Pauli Supports EHDAS led Blue Economy Center in Central Asia
Günter Pauli expresses his support for the formation of a Turkish-Iranian Center of Excellence serving the Central Asian and Near East regions. In their meeting with A.A.Golesorkhi of EHDAS RD ,during the Blue Economy Summer School 2o14 (http://bess.ktk.pte.hu/) , Pauli repeated his support for the formation of a center of excellence , by the help of which regional Blue Economy related best practices are continuously extracted , shared and fostered . The center will be acting as a „project marketplace” which is both a knowledge sharing and partnership platform for pitching in , buying and selling competencies, project ideas, plans, bids, supports and most importantly forming Blue Economy related collaborations. Günter had first expressed his interest in seeing collaborations between the Iranian and Turkish engineer entrepreneurs regarding the design and implementation of the „Coastal Farming Project” during the second Sustainability, Capacity Building,Empowerment conference(http://www.sceconf.com) Pauli, signed and dedicated 100 Farsi editions of the Blue Economy to the engineering entrepreneurs and innovators, reminding all of the opportunity for thinking out of the box and helping revitalize the regionthrough a newer approach to development and sustainability. The Bi-polar center is looking into having the Istanbul Technical University as its main base in Turkey in joint-collaboration with EHDAS RD in Tehran for covering the Central Asian region Head of the Strategic Planning Dr.MeteBasarBaypinar from the Faculty of Architecture will be leading the activities at ITU(http://www.itu.edu.tr/en). With Mete joining in the activities in Turkey received new blood. The Turkish initiative had actually been kicked-off a year earlier further to the 2012 Blue Economy Showcase-Marketplace in Hungary where Mrs.IsilayArtut had been nominated the Head of Operations. The planned operations had reached a halt as a result of back-to-back unfavorable incidences in the Turkish context and of course not least of all organizational changes at the Turkish level. There have already been positive stances for expanding the project marketplace to the Blacksea and mediterranians . Pauli had reviewed his vision for reviving the Silk Road through Blue Economy collaborations during the summer 2014 meeting.
