Germany Vows to Help Remove Banking Obstacles Hindering Trade with Iran

"I will do my best to ease the banking cooperation with Iran," Steinmeier said on Friday, addressing a conference in Berlin.

Steinmeier underlined the need for mutual cooperation between Germany and Iran, and said he would consider any possibilities to broaden its relations with Tehran.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian and German Vice-Chancellor and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel in a meeting in Tehran underlined the need for boosting economic and trade relations between the two countries.

During the meeting in the Iranian capital on Monday, Chitchian and Gabriel explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooperation.

"Iran and Germany are capable of developing cooperation in an array of fields, including electricity, water and renewable energies," Chitchian said.
