Iran Inaugurates Biggest Solar Power Station

Arak's solar power station kicked off work in the presence of Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian.

A sum of four solar energy units with a capacity of 250 kilowatts each are utilized in Arak Solar Energy Project.

The solar energy power station will save two tons of environmental pollutants in the province.

Among renewable energy sources, Iran has a high solar energy potential. The widespread deployment of solar energy is promising due to the recent advancements in solar energy technologies.

The existing small capacity solar energy plants are in Shiraz, Semnan, Taleghan, Yazd, Tehran, and Khorasan provinces.

Under the current energy policies, the combined solar, wind and geothermal power plants are economically viable.
